Our deacon of the month for July is Jan McCracken. Jan has been a member of FBC Pendleton for fifty years! She is active in the Flamingo Sunday School class, as evidenced by her extensive collection of flamingo décor! Jan has served on many committees and in various volunteer roles at FBCP including personnel committee, Wednesday night supper clean up, preschool Sunday School teacher, deacon secretary, and assistant church clerk, among others. Jan works as the Domestic Admissions Coordinator for the Graduate School of Clemson University. She is looking forward to her upcoming retirement this fall!
Jan enjoys spending time with her family, which is challenging, given that they live all over the world! Jan’s dad, Al McCracken, also a long-time member of FBCP, lives in the mountains of North Carolina. Jan’s sister and brother-in-law, Lynn and Kevin Xie, live in Shanghai, China, and her niece, Anna Xie, is a student at New York University.
Jan’s favorite Bible verse is Romans 8:38-39. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
