Jane Massey is our Deacon of the Month. Jane moved to Pendleton with her husband, Rick, and children, Josh and Katie, in 1984. They joined First Baptist Church of Pendleton soon after the move. Jane and Rick have six grandchildren. All six have participated in many First Baptist Church of Pendleton activities. Jane is a member of the Robinson WMU group and Co-ed B Sunday School Class. Jane has held positions on multiple committees through the years. Perhaps, she is best known as the assistant Mission Friends teacher with Esther Davis for generations of children. She continues to enjoy working with the young children of First Baptist Church of Pendleton.

One of Jane’s favorite Bible verses is 1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

Jane taught in Pendleton for thirty years before retiring. The first 20 years were at Pendleton Elementary, as a kindergarten teacher, the last years at Mount Lebanon as the school counselor. She continues to volunteer at Mount Lebanon.
