June 12-15 ∙ 6:45 – 8:15 pm 

Adults are welcome to attend:

∙ Supper (5:45-6:15) ∙ VBS Opening Assembly (6:20-6:45) ∙ VBS Closing Assembly (8:15-8:30)

This year’s VBS theme will allow children AND adults to explore the Exodus story.

The adult class will use a different approach each night. See below for details.

 

Wednesday, June 12 – Introduction to Exodus

Read and discuss excerpts of the Biblical story of the Exodus.

Led by Jay Kieve, Coordinator of CBF South Carolina

 

Thursday, June 13 – Modern Day Application

Participate in a simulation activity to learn about the plight of modern-day immigrants and refugees and to reflect on ways in which their experience is like the Exodus story.

Led by Jay Kieve

Friday, June 14 – A Seder Experience

Participate in a modified version of a Seder, a Jewish ceremony which recalls the way in which God delivered the Israelites from slavery.

Led by Christy Allen

Saturday, June 15 – Popular Music

Listen to popular songs and discuss ways in which they incorporate imagery of the Exodus story. Songs may include Billy Joel’s River of Dreams, Metallica’s Creeping Death, Bob Marley’s Exodus, and more. Feel free to bring your own songs!
