Welcome to First Baptist Church of Pendleton!
Rooted in Faith and Growing in Love

June 27, 2021 · 11:00 am · Fifth Sunday after Pentecost

Guest Preacher Rev. John Brantley preaches the sermon Finding Something Different. Our Scripture readings will be Psalm 130, read by Diana Parson, and Luke 10:25-37, read by Rev. John Brantley. The Offertory Prayer will be led by Diana Parson. Richard Reynolds Huss plays “Simple Gifts” for the Offertory. Rev. Chris Cottingham sings “Good to Me” for the Response. We had some technical difficulties with the audio and the worship video has been edited to remove that portion. We apologize for the inconvenience.

We welcome Rev. John Brantley as our guest preacher today. John was Pastor at FBCP from 1983-1988. His sermon will be “Finding Something Different.” The scripture is Luke 10:25-37, the Parable of the Good Samaritan. He will be taking a different perspective on the parable. Most ministers focus on the “who is your neighbor and love thy neighbor” part. He is focusing on the “as yourself” part. A transcript of his sermon is available here.

John is the President of Auxin360, Inc. a speaking, training, and consulting company that equips leaders and organizations to create a growth culture. He has worked with business, manufacturing, banking, healthcare, universities, governments, and non-profits for over 30 years. He is also a founding owner of BAM Adventures, Inc. a company that has led over 150 family events for military families around the world since 2009. John has designed and taught numerous leadership, coaching, team, and performance management systems. In the 1990’s he designed the organizational team model that CBF Global Missions has been using for over 25 years.
