This summer, several of our church’s mission partners are offering online events. This is a great opportunity to connect with our wider Baptist family. These virtual events are free; see below for information on how to register.
Fierce Freedom and the Baptist Joint Committee for Religious Liberty
The Baptist Joint Committee for Religious Liberty is hosting Fierce Freedom: a live broadcast on Friday, Jun 18 at 1:00 pm. This event will feature a powerful presentation from the Rev. Dr. Jacqui Lewis, an author, activist, and public theologian who serves as the Senior Minister of Middle Collegiate Church in New York City. Broadcasting live from the National Press Club studios in Washington, DC, Fierce Freedom will be a celebration of freedom for all people and an opportunity to re-think how many of our religious freedom conversations have been white for too long. Together with the Baptist World Alliance
The Baptist World Alliance will be holding the 22nd Baptist World Congress on the theme Together. This will be a fully virtual experience from July 7-10, 2021. With content offered in multiple languages, enjoy opportunities to pray, worship, learn, and fellowship together. Together is the operative word! For the last year and a half COVID-19 has kept us apart, but by the grace of God, we have found a way to be together with our global Baptist family. The 22nd Baptist World Congress has the potential to be the most diverse international celebration of Baptists in our 400-year history; more than 1,000 people have already registered from over 100 countries.
